Eltom - NRTU - outdoor traction load break switch

One-pole outdoor load break switch type NRTU is used in electric traction systems in the tram and trolleybus public transport. Its main purpose is opening and closing the electrical circuits, conduction operating currents and short-circuit currents and making switching operations in the range of currents which does not exceed maximum value of rated current of the load break switch.

Load break switch includes rigid steel basis, which provided two composite outdoor insulators with the fixed contacts mounted on them, and the moving steel part with insulator and the movable contact. Each contact is equipped with arcing horns providing arc suppresion.The copper parts are silver plated, the steel parts are hot zinc plated and the connecting elements are made of stainless steel. The device opens by connecting the lever with the motor or hand drive with the aid of string.
